[intro]
[Verse 1]
In my youth
The world seemed vast and boundless, all but a jest
They claimed I bore the weight of the heavens
Yet never once considered tomorrow's bread

Without a care in the world
I still insisted on scribbling
A few lines of springtime sorrow
To share with friends
Drawers crammed with hollow excuses

[Chorus]
The weather turns cool, ah, what a fine autumn
Cold winds awaken how many youthful years
I lift my head to charge ahead, yet my feet can scarcely stand tall
Only fallen leaves remain, making a clamour

The weather turns cool, ah, what a fine autumn
Ask me now, what troubles me still
I open my mouth, yet no reason comes to mind
Only this one line lingers in my throat

[Verse 2]
Always loved  climbing high towers
Gazing afar, pointing at  mountains and rivers,  pretending to be mature
Claiming to forge  a chapter of history
A heart full of fervour  couldn't scorch my sleeves

Once I understood
The gate to serving the nation  was lined with  silence
Ambitions written  in envelopes  returned unopened
Lifting my gaze, yet  couldn't see  the end

[Chorus]
The weather turns cool, ah, what a fine autumn
The cold moon casts shadows of a few  greying heads
The state grows worse by the day, my heart  feels like it's on fire
Heroic dreams  are tucked away in a corner

The weather turns cool, ah, what a fine autumn
If you truly  must ask  why
A thousand words  come to mind, yet only  a bowed head remains
With a wry smile: ‘The weather turns cool, ah, what a fine autumn’

[Bridge]
Finish this cup  and speak no more
Reasoning now  only stirs  old grievances
Mountains and rivers remain  yet  their hues have changed
We are still here  but have learnt  to keep silent

[Chorus]
The weather's turned chilly,  such a lovely autumn.
The wind blows past my head  from that page of memory.
Who still guards  the recklessness of youth tonight?
All I hear is my heartbeat  trembling.

The weather's turned chilly,  such a lovely autumn.
Ask me  what I could possibly  still care about.
Whether spoken much or little,  in the end,  it's hard to ask for.
So I can only  sigh once more.
The weather's turned chilly,  such a lovely autumn.
